Khan's Gambit - Birati Chess Academy -9836614608.

Khan's gambit

Khan's gambit starts with bishop's opening: 1.e4 e5 2.bc4, and then d5. You're going to surprise your opponents, because there's just few games in database with this position. But let's learn what to do next

Bishop retreating to d3

Just simply push your pawn to d4, transforming into really weird French defense. Engine shows that black is pretty good here, and sure he is!

Bishop takes d5

Now, just simply play Nf6, they play this move just to win a paan and just go back, cuz bishop can be easily kicked out with c6. But you're actually pretty good here: Your queen is on open file, both of your bishops ready to go,your opponent moved his minor piece THREE times in a row. Pretty much like in Stafford gambit

Pawn takes d5

Basicly the best move, and the most deepest one. Play Nf6, and your opponent will respond with Nc3, naturally developing, protecting pawn on d5, and grabbing more center. Respond with Bb4, the best move for white is Ne2, then play Bg4, which forces white to play f3. Then, just reatreat your bishop to f5. And then, you gotta play chess. But... There's a one more line... A CRUSHING line:

7.g4

So, what are we gonna play here? Now, you're going to play... Nxg4, which at first glance, looks like a terrible blunder, until... Fxg4, and then Qe4+, now I think you're understanding what's going to happen. Now, white has to play Nf2, respond with Bxg4, and white also has to play Ne2. Now white got two pinned pieces, and it's pretty wining for black, white after Qe4+ can play different moves, but you've got the idea

The Blackburne Shilling Gambit - Birati Chess Academy

The Blackburne Shilling Gambit is the name facetiously given to a dubious chess opening, derived from an offshoot of the Italian Game, that begins: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nd4?!

#chess Leonardis Variation- Birati Chess Academy -9836613608

Leonardis Variation- Birati Chess Academy -9836613608.

d3 is known as the Leonardis Variation. The Leonardis Variation is inferior to most other responses to the Open Game (like 2. Nf3 or 2. Bc4) because it is very passive and blocks off the light-squared bishop (hems it to a defensive role on e2). Also, this is a very quiet move and allows Black easy equality with 2...Nf6 followed by 3...d5. However, this can be taken as a reversed Philidor Defense, and in that case, it is quite playable for White (this still results in equal positions, but Black has a small first-move advantage). Nevertheless, as told before, this move does effectively give up White's first move advantage to Black, so is not played very commonly.

#chess "Anti Fried Liver Defense" - Birati Chess Academy -9836614608

 Anti Fried Liver Defense

The Fried Liver Attack, also called the Fegatello Attack (named after an Italian dish), is a chess opening. This opening is a variation of the Two Knights Defense in which White sacrifices a knight for an attack on Black's king.

e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 h6 h6 is the defining move of the "Anti-Fried Liver Defense". Black anticipates that White will play Ng5 on the next move and decides to put a stop to that idea.

Van't Kruijis Opening - Birati Chess Academy - 9836614608

Van't Kruijis Opening - Birati Chess Academy - 9836614608.

VAN’T KRUIJS OPENING

The Chess Openings – Ultimate Guide to the Openings of ChessVan’t Kruijs Opening

The Van’t Kruijs Opening is an unusual Chess Opening beginning with 1. e3

Though the Van’t Kruijs Opening is rare at all levels of chess, there’s nothing particularly incorrect about white’s first move. There are many well-respected openings that involve a pawn on e3, and we are likely to reach one of them within the next few moves. For example:

1. e3 d5 2. d4 Nf6 3. c4 e6 would transpose to a variation of the Queen’s Gambit Declined

1. e3 e5 2. c4 would transpose to an English Opening

So why is 1. e3 not a popular choice?

In every opening system involving a pawn on e3, white will always get the chance to play e2-e3 later – black can hardly prevent white from playing the move!

But other key moves in the set-up (such as d2-d4, c2-c4, or other center-occupying moves) may be easier to achieve on move one than they would be later. Black has ways to take these squares under control as early as his first move, if white does not occupy the center themselves.

Therefore, any opening set-up involving a pawn on e3 can probably be reached by a better move order than playing the Van’t Kruijs!

A matter of curiosity

That is, if  looked at any chess opening position after 3-4 moves had been played, I would never be able to identify the position as a Van’t Kruijs Opening. The game will almost always transpose to an opening set-up that’s better known by another name.

The only time I had ever even seen the name before was while messing around with opening databases as a beginner – experimenting with different openings and trying to learn their names. I suspect that many people inquiring about this opening today are doing the same – which is great!

Conclusion

The Van’t Kruijs Opening is better than its reputation, and is actually a fully reasonable first move. The reason it’s unpopular is simply that there’s little reason to play 1. e3 on move one, when it can easily be played later.
